Within easy reach are many ativities:- walking, riding, fishing, swimming, tennis and golf. The market town of Tiverton - 3mls - offers horsedrawn canal barge trips. Knightshayes Court & gardens and Killerton house are delightful places to visit and the cathedral city of Exeter is just 20 minutes away. Below are some ideas for places to visit during your stay.

Knightshayes Court - A Victorian Country House owned by the National Trust which has magnificent interiors and gardens which are open to the public. There is a licensed restaurant on site and a gift shop. Please check National Trust website for opening hours as these can vary throughout the year.
Killerton House - A glorious landscaped garden surrounded by parkland, fine 18th-century house where you can also view a historical fashion collection. There are two refreshment areas on site Garden Tea-room (licensed) in house. Orchard Tea-room (licensed) in stable block with open-air seating. Locally produced home-made food.
Tiverton - A market twon just 3 miles from Lower Ford Farm which was once a thriving due to the wool trade and then later Heathcote lace making factory. It was further aided by a branch of the Great Western Canal you can find out more about the towns industrial history at the towns museum. You can also take a trip on the canal on a Horse-drawn barge and enjoy some light refreshments from the The Ducks' Ditty Floating Café Bar.
Bickleigh Mill - One of Devon's largest most exciting rural shopping, eating and recreation destination housed within this 18th century historic working water Mill. You can buy gifts, pottery and clothing here as well as enjoy a relaxing meal at the Bistro Restaurant & Cafe.
Exmoor National Park - The stunning landscape or Exmoor National Park covers the border between Devon and Somerset, and is home to Red Deer and the Exmoor Pony. There are many walks over the moors and many places to visit such as , Dulverton, Porlock, and Tarr Steps. Exmoor also runs along the North Devon Coastline where you can visit Lynton & Lynmouth.
Dartmoor National Park - an area of 368 square miles - the largest and wildest area of open country in southern England. Dartmoor is an exceptionally beautiful place to visit, with deep wooded gorges, beautiful lake-like reservoirs and tumbling rocky rivers as well as it's trademark tors. Places you may wish to visit are Princetown ( home of Dartmoor Prison), Castle Drogo , Haytor Granite Tramway.
RHS Garden Rosemoor - set deep in the lovely North Devon countryside, Rosemoor is an enchanting garden to visit at any time of the year. There is also a plant centre, gift shop and restaurant offering fresh local produce. Open all year except Christmas and children under 6 go free.
Crealy Adventure Park - just 4 minutes from the M5 Junction 30 on the A3052, Sidmouth Road near Exeter Devons Crealy is Devons largests adventure park with both indoor and outdoor activities for a fun filled family day out. They also have farm animals where you can groom and feed the animals.
Paignton Zoo - a great day out with thousands of animals, a miniature train ride, a wobbly jungle bridge in Lemur Wood, indoor and outdoor play areas, keeper talks and feeding times, places to eat and places to sit – all packed into 80 acres of natural habitat.
